program architecture Posted by benjampm (benjampm), 7 November 2007 Hello, i'm trying to port a program I originally wrote in VB to Tcl. In that program I had a bunch of timers that I used to check values and start threads. However, after reading more about Tcl that doesn't seem like the way to go. The basic concept is that when a certain registry key changes I need to open a serial port and start communicating. I'm talking to an embedded system so I need to send it info and periodically check its status. I need to then log this status. The problem is that I need to be able to communicate with 16 total devices and that each of these devices needs to have its own handler. I thought about opening all 16 com ports, waiting for the device to say its on then checking the registry. I'm still not sure how to handle the 16 different ports though. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
