new telnet session

hello,

i have a main file which calls another file giving the target name and the type of session(eg telnet)

can you tell me as to how i can open a new telnet session for that target in anew window so that i can send commands to it.

i tried start telnet "target name". It doesnt work.

Instead if i use spawn telnet "target name" then it returns with a id. but i dont have a telnet console to which i can send commands.
