Hi ,

Please let me know how to use the format command to append to a variable the time date and year

will these work ?

set x 12
format [append x %c]

where  %c is replaced by date-time as in: Wed Oct 6 11:45:56 1993

% set x "hello it is"
hello it is
% append x [clock format [clock seconds]]
hello it isWed Aug 02 15:36:15 BST 2006
