Expect with Cron failed

Posted by mengatus (mengatus), 30 October 2007
I have a expect script using ftp to put a file into the remote system.

I scheduled a cron job to run the expect script everyday.

The expect script is running fine under command line, but not in cron environment.

The error happened on spawn ftp $hostName

after certain time: ftp: connection timed out.

Is there anything I need to setup for cron environment?

Thanks very much for any help.

Frank

I think I fixed that problem.

I put full path of ftp and it worked.

Yes ... that would be it; the cron and the command line current directories and paths can be different ...
