For 2021 - online Python 3 training - see ((here)).

Our plans were to retire in summer 2020 and see the world, but Coronavirus has lead us into a lot of lockdown programming in Python 3 and PHP 7.
We can now offer tailored online training - small groups, real tutors - works really well for groups of 4 to 14 delegates. Anywhere in the world; course language English.

Please ask about private 'maintenance' training for Python 2, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, etc.
Automatic running tkcon with any script?

Posted by Dimon (Dimon), 11 May 2006
Hi esteemed experts,
I have a question I hope simpler than I usual have to ask
Tcl/Tk program (a GUI shell for several command-line c utilities) calls them and redirect output (from stdout) into its own console.
But I have one program which output data I cannot redirect into virtual channel created by 'open' command (I don't know why).
Well, I thinking to run it into separate dos-style console window to see output data. When I call it from Tcl/Tk GUI shell, program's console window is hided from user.

The question is: can I run tkcon or cmd window from tk script (with 'source' command) and automatic start my c-program within it? If yes, how to do it?

OS: Win 2K SP4 with post SP
Tcl version: 8.4.2 with thread support
Tk version: 8.4.2

It may be simpler, but it's off my realm of expertise I'm afraid - I could answer that under Linux or OS X.   I'me NOT seated at a windows box at the moment so can't try out the following ...  Does cmd.exe take any options that would help?   try help cmd and it may give you a clue

Or maybe try the 'run' command. (Just a shot in the dark).
