For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Issues about running tcl scripts as a testsuite

Posted by sonali.birari (sonali.birari), 14 December 2006
I need to do following thing:

I have 1 tcl script - prereq.tcl (kind of prerequisites, say create user1).

I need to load this before test execution begins.

I have 3 testfiles : testfile1, testfile2,testfile3

each test file looks like this:
testfile1:
...
source prereq.tcl
...
...test code goes here...
....

This way I can execute each testfile independently.

But If I have to run these 3 testfiles in a suite, the tcl script-prereq.tcl will get loaded in each of the testfile execution i.e.
it will create user 3 times.

What my requirement is that:
In the suite, it should first check, if user USER1 is already present. IF yes, then it should skip the 'creation of user part'.

Hope my problem is clear.

Pl provide information

Regards,
Sonali
