Perl code can be embedded in Tcl? Posted by saga (saga), 2 February 2007 if possible, how?thanks. Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 2 February 2007 Why?Posted by saga (saga), 2 February 2007 on unix/linux platform, Perl is used as a popular script language to perform everyday task. Also in some other environments, such as testing communication devices, we use Tcl to complete many automatic testing tasks. So I want to know if Perl and Tcl can invoke each other or not. I'm just curious. Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 3 February 2007 They can invoke each other via "shell" or 'exec" type commands - in other words, you can run a Tcl program from within a Perl one and vice versa, just as you can cross-run any language. However, I don't think they embed in one another in quite the way that you can embed Python in Java to get Jython.Posted by saga (saga), 5 February 2007 thank you, Graham. This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
