setting Sticky bit on perl script Posted by hugo_owen (hugo_owen), 20 September 2005 I have created a wrapper script in csh to grab UID which then runs as root passing the UID to the Perl script. This is not working because of Perl's security (Insecure ENV etc....). I had a look around the web and it looks like Perl has it's own wrap UID which I think would solve this problem.Any Idea's Many Thanks Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 21 September 2005 Oh yikes ... I would have to start experimenting with this one ... no immediate clues personally but I know that a couple of other readers and occasional posters may have the odd thought. Posted by hugo_owen (hugo_owen), 21 September 2005 Quick update, I have found the Perl wrapper its called wrapsuid.pl and it basically compiles a C program which then calls the Perl script. However it still does not work - been looking around the web and it looks like this is Perl's built in security and nothing can be done. This is a right pain as this is a complex archiving script which has taken ages to complete but |I can't use it![]() This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
