how to compare word for word

I'm thing to find out how to compare word-for-word..

I've been usring this :

@Standard = ('Multidata','SybaseData','Data');
..
if ($line=~ m/$standard/i)
'data' is recognized in both Multidata and sybasedata.. I know the "m/" is not the correct to use.. -any sugestions?..  


Nevermind..solved it my selft :
if ($line=~ m/\b$standard\b/i)
