For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Sendmail goes to-BUlk-folder

Posted by weisswolfen (weisswolfen), 28 August 2005
Hi:
I'm using a PHP sendmail for my web site, but emails go to -Bulk Folder - instead of -Inbox-. I'm not very knowledgeable in PHP , there is any problem with the coding? Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
This is the code:

<?
if(!empty($HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_mail']) || !empty($HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_message']) || !empty($HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_subject']) || !empty($HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_name']))
{
     $to = "someone@......fsnet.co.uk";
     $subject = stripslashes($HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_subject']);
     $body = stripslashes($HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_message']);
     $body .= "\n\n---------------------------\n";
     $body .= "Mail sent by: " . $HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_name'] . " <" . $HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_mail']  . ">\n";
     $header = "From: " . $HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_name'] . " <" . $HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_mail'] . ">\n";
     $header .= "Reply-To: " . $HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_name'] . " <" . $HTTP_POST_VARS['sender_mail'] . ">\n";
     $header .= "X-Mailer: PHP/" . phpversion() . "\n";
     $header .= "X-Priority: 1";
     if(@mail($to, $subject, $body, $header))
     {
           echo "output=sent";
     } else {
           echo "output=error";
     }
} else {
     echo "output=error";
}
?>e code:

It looks like your mail client is seeing something that makes your email look "bulk"ish ... I couldn't see anything obvious from the text you posted, mind you.   Suggestion - have a look at the headers you get in one of these "bulk" emails and the headers that you get in regular "inbox" email, and play about with the PHP to make it look more like the inbox.

Hi Graham:
Thanks for your reply, regarding the subject a clue of my problem with -bulk- is at this url http://www.talkbiz.com/assassin.html
