For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Python Programmers who are Film lovers

Posted by Darrell (Darrell), 14 June 2006
Surely somewhere in this python programmers community, there is a "Top Gun" who knows his "Da Vinci Code" I need all the "Usual Suspects" to come out of hiding and save me from having to "Die Another Day". Now if you feel that you know the "Godfather" who wants a very exciting role within a trully exciting company, loves film & Cinema,  get their "Bronx Tale" on the phone and tell them to make contact with  "D.A.R.Y.L" "Apocalypse Now"!!

P.s  If you feel i've gone over-board with the film metaphors please don't hold it against me !! these things can happen when "You've Got mail"!!! (Any replies are very welcome)

Hi Darrel.

This does sound like a "Titanic" oportunity, and I'm sure there are some "Goodfellas" out there who would be suitable.

Unfortunately I have no Python experience although a "Training day" could help, also I currently work for the family business so don't think they or "The In-laws" would appreciate a career change.

You don't give too much information on the job, perhaps if you posted a spec "The others" could "analize this" spec , then run to a "Phonebooth" to call you.  Also is the post situated in 1 place or would they have to have the "confidence" to travel, is it suitated in the City or "The village".

Any way good luck filling the post, I'm sure it will be "gone in 60 seconds"....

Hey, Darrell, posting one thread advertising a job is fine (as is following up in that same thread if the position changes).   Starting a second thread to push it a bit harder is really pushing our good offices to the limit. OK?

I do apologise , i should of edited the first posting, i suppose it was when i was hit with the creative light bulb flashing in my head i forgot to think how one should post the position, more over one was thinking how to make it more interesting. please except my sincere apologies.

Darrell.

No hassle, Darrell ... just that several threads on the same topic tends to confuse, and reposting (however exciting the prospect might be) is sometimes regarded as bit of a pushy "bump".   Sorry - but I'm used to looking after a "for sale" area where several people were in the habit of posting a new snippet about their [[whatever]] every couple of days to keep their thread near the top of the pile.
