Melksham Train Service Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 5 March 2006 HELP!This one could have a very noticable effect on our business ... and on YOUR travel plans to come to us on training courses. First Great Western are withdrawing 3 out of 5 of our daily trains as from December, leaving a morning service to Melksham at 06:20 from Swindon which is far too early for courses, and a service back at about 19:30 which is far too late. They tell us that the service level is set by the Department for Transport, but that they have scope to change the timing if it fits in with their other services. I would really appreciate it if you could visit this link and make your inputs - from a training course viewpoint, the option of a train from Swindon at around 08:20 returning at around 17:00 is an ideal once. Thanks! Graham Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 9 March 2006 Many thanks to those of you who have followed up / looked at this issue via this thread, the archive, and other flags. A government consultation last spring got 8 responses ... but we've managed to get at least 5 times that in to them this time - and that's just ones that I know of.This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
