Python, Perl, MySQL, Linux; meeting the supergeeks Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 30 July 2004 In the interest of keeping my mind sharp (and keeping one step ahead of our trainees), I go off from time to time to listen to and learn from the "supergeeks" in the upper echelons of the subjects I teach. Earlier this year, I took a week our of the UK to listen to Mark Lutz - the Python authority who wrote many of the O'Reilly books on the subject, and in a couple of months time I've another trip schedules on which I'll be listening to Larry Wall (Perl), Rasmus Lerdorf (PHP), Monty Widenius (MySQL) and a host of others. I admire these folks anyway for the products they have created, and it usually turns out that they're really lovely people too. I'll keep you posted. This page is a thread posted to the opentalk forum
