Shrewton or Tilshead, or at
Devizes as you get back nearer to base.
[imgr=lmr_trackbed_5]Former route of Larkhill Military Railway[/img]Larkhill is also home to a major military garrison (sorry - I didn't to round taking pictures of the MOD areas - I don't think that would have been appreciated!) and was server by the Larkhill Military Light Railway from
Ratfyn junction, which carried on to
Stonehenge airfield.
[imgr=stalban_1]The Garrison Church of St Alban the Martyr, Larkhill[/img]Built in brick, the church of St Alban the Martyr at Larkhill serves the military garrison that's based there. Taken on an autumn day in 2009, this picture shows it very quiet - not a sole in the churchgrounds, yet a busy road just a few yards away.
