Woodhenge, Wiltshire
![]() Woodhenge - the field and markers Woodhenge is just a couple of miles from its more famous neighbour of Stonehenge also on Salisburyplain - but it's much more secluded and less likely to be overrun by other visitors. I'm sure that's largely because the wood of the henge here hasn't survived - but rather the old structure is marked by modern concrete posts. Map locator - Woodhenge ![]() At first, the pattern looks random ... ![]() but then you see there's order to the stones If you want to visit Woodhenge, it's just a couple of miles north of Amesbury on the road to Pewsey and Marlborough.
