Dorset is a farming and seaside county, with a heritage coastline between the Victorian seaside resorts of Weymouth and Swanage. It's possible to reach Weymouth in a long day trip from Melksham - indeed, Melksham was on the original London to Dorchester and Weymouth railway before the curoff was built through Poole, then a further cutoff through Bournemouth.
