Pen Mill Station, Yeovil

Yeovil has two railway stations - Pen Mill and Junction - on different lines. Pen Mill is served by Bristol to Weymouth trains, and Junction is served by London to Exeter services. There's a line linking the two but at present it doesn't carry and scheduled passenger trains - it's largely used for diversions when other lines aren't available.




Signal Box - Yeovil Pen Mill

The signals and signal box at Yeovil use rodding (for the points) and wires (for the signals) which are of the old semaphore type - it's a true piece of history.




Passengers at Yeovil Pen Mill

A passenger railway exists for its passengers - and it was good to see a fair number waiting for the train last Friday afternoon.
