Accessing SQL from applet - security exception

Posted by enquirer (enquirer), 11 September 2003
I use SQL for databases. I have managed to make the connection when I view on appletviewer but when I try on internet explorer, it gives security exception.

Have you got any idea how I can sorted it out please?

If Applets weren't wrapped in very thorough security, then a malicious applet could do untold damage.  Without a browser, and applet can only read / write from / to the site from which it was downloaded; my first guess would be that the database and web server are on different machines?
