For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Please Help (Thanks very much!!!)

Urgent for me.....Thanks for who help me....

The application is used by college staff to allocate students to rooms when they apply for hostel accommodation and de-allocate the rooms at the end of the semester.

Room allocation is performed on a semester basis. The college follows a two-semester system in each academic year. Before the start of each semester, students may apply for hostel rooms for the coming semester. All rooms in the hostel are for single occupancy and are of the same type. There are 4 floors in the hostel with 8 rooms on each floor. The floor number is from 1 to 4 and the room numbers on each floor are from 1 to 8.

Students are required to fill in their name, registration number, and year and semester of study when they apply for a hostel room. (Note that all courses in the university are of three-year duration.)

By the end of each semester, all students currently occupying the rooms in the hostel are required to vacate them. They need to apply again, if they wish, for the next semester room allocation.

Design and implement classes to represent student and hostel room objects for the hostel room management application. Classes must have  following operations:

checking if a room is available or occupied
allocating a student to a room
     de-allocating a room
getting the student who occupies a room

I've been looking at booking systems for hotel rooms and Dr's appointements of late, and had drawn a bit of a blank until someone mentioned MRBS (Meeting Room Booking System) to me the other day.

It's in PHP and MySQL rather than Java, but it sound to me like you haven't got very far yet in Java and need to get it running soon - so I suggest you don't re-invent the wheel.
