Tomcat server shut down

Posted by sandra (sandra), 30 September 2003
Does anyone have trouble shutting down a tomcat server? Mine shuts down every morning (or is supposed to) but fairly frequently, it fails to stop, a new process starts and I end up by the end of the week with multiple instances of of the server and everything grinds to a halt.

Hi, Sandra ... some questions, I'm afraid ....

What version of Tomcat, what operating system, how are you telling it to shut down at the specified time.   Is it possible you're only killing one thread, for example ....
