In Olde English, a Conigre was a rabbit warren. In Melksham, we've had the Conigre Farm Hotel for may years - now, alas, built up all around and fronting on to an A road, but with an excellent reputation for an up market meal. See Melksham Hotels for more details of the Conigre Hotel and others.

The Conigre Mead Nature Reserve, in a triangle of land between the main bypass road, the river and the back of the town, makes for a pleasant evening's stroll.
