Each year, some of the residents of Longford Road, Melksham, decorate their houses extravagantly and encourage neighbours, other Melkshamites, and people from further afield to come into town and view the spectacle.

There's one house especially where the front garden is taken over by lit modela and fairly lights ... to the extent that you'll wonder if there's any lawn left afterwards.

If you're wondering "why" .... I understand that it started as something of a piece of fun - and it's still fun - but now the houses are collecting in aid of local hospices, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and other good nearby causes. More weight to their elbow!
