[imgl=manordawn]Well House Manor at dawn[/img] Well House Manor is a Business Hotel - offering business visitors to
Melksham large rooms, each with a double or twin bed, a large desk, unlimited
Internet access, etc. All rooms are en-suite, and our prices include a continental breakfast that's served from 7 a.m. to suit the business guest. We also offer meeting rooms for hire during the day - the "Wilts" which will take up to 20 around a U shaped / conference table, and the "Berks" with a maximum capacity of 8. You're also welcome to use our
"Whitworth" dining room, our lounge, or our library for short business meetings while you're staying with us. Public internet access is available in the library through a computer that we've provided, and in the other rooms via your own laptop.
Well House Manor occupies a large, elegant Edwardian home, dating from 1906. It's set in 3/4 of an acre of gardens - secluded, yet just a five minute walk from the town centre. We have plenty of parking for our guests and for their visitors.
Melksham is a quiet country town with a population of about 24,500. There's a variety of pubs (some serving food up to 10 p.m.), restaurants and takeaways, keep fit facilities, swimming pool, hairdressers, beauty salons, banks and many shops. There's a convenience store and garage, open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, just two doors up from Well House Manor, and a similar 24 hour establishment within half a mile.
We were newly opened in 2007, but already we've got many returning guests.

Getting to Melksham
By road - we're about 100 miles to the West of
London, about a 20 minutes off the M4 motorway. A separate sheet of directions is included with your confirmation, or you can type our postcode (SN12 7NY) into your GPS or a mapping website. We have plenty of free parking for you to use throughout your stay, including covered secure parking if required for cycles and motor cycles.
By train, there's a service that arrives at MELKSHAM station at 19:11 in the evening (London connection leaves 17:30, change at Swindon), and trains back at 07:17 and 19:47 (London arrival 09:04 and 21:26). If you'll be arriving or leaving on these train, let us know and we can pick you up from / drop you off at the station. Trains to Chippenham run twice an hour from London and Bristol, and there are taxis available on demand at the station there - it's a 15 to 20 minute ride. [These times are current until May 2010]
The 272 and 273 bus services from
Bath stop right outside "Well House Manor" and run every hour through the day. In Bath, you can catch them at the Bus Station, in the City centre (temporary bus station - about 400 yards from the railway station).
The National Express Coach from London stops just five minutes walk from us in Melksham town centre. (London (Victoria) 18:00, Heathrow 18:45, Melksham 21:05) and returns at 07:45 (Heathrow 10:15, London 11:15).
By Air, fly into
Bristol Airport. It's about 30 miles from our hotel. We have an arrangement with a local taxi firm and we can arrange prebooked pickups at an extra cost of 50 pounds or so which you'll pay direct to the driver. Taxis are also available unbooked at the airport; the company that runs this service quotes about 60 pounds for a ride to Melksham. An alternative is to fly into Heathrow and catch the National Express coach described above.
Please phone or email us if you would like specific advise on YOUR journey - we're very familiar with local routes and transportation, including further options not listed above.
We've been welcoming guests to Melksham for many years!
Facilities at Well House Manor
Bedrooms include the regular facilities you'll require as a business visitor to make Well House Manor both an office away from your office, and a home from home. That's everything from a large desk and internet connection through to a large screen TV featuring all freeview channels, and from a minifridge and laptop safe for your use through to a stylish en-suite bathroom complete with heated floor tiles.
Meeting rooms and public rooms look out onto our quiet 3/4 acre gardens, and have been totally refurbished in 2006 with new decor, heating, lighting, internet, fire safety and security systems. Each meeting room is equipped with chairs and tables sufficient for the maximum quoted capacity of the room, and has whiteboard / projector screen available. As trainers / meeting co-ordinators ourselves, we've taken care in the design to get things like lighting and heating exactly right.
The access from our car park to all meeting rooms is on the level, and we have a ground floor cloakroom / toilet with easy access features. However, at this stage all of our bedrooms are accessible only via a staircase. Please let us know of any special needs in advance as this will let allow us to make any additional arrangements.

Bedrooms, public areas and training rooms are fitted with sensitive smoke detectors for fire safety purposes, and these are liable to be set off by cigarette smoke. You are however welcome to smoke elsewhere in the garden.
