"Retirement Apartments for Sale at Riverland Court". So says the sign in
Christchurch outside the big block I was walking past. It invites visitors to the show complex from 10:30 to 17:00 and, had I been in those hours, I would have gone in and had a look.
Mccarthy and Stone, Christchurch - front
We've had a letter - correction SEVERAL letters - form
Mccarthay and Stone who are the business behind Riverland Court inquiring about the availability of "Well House Manor" for sale. Nothing new - we knew that the previous owner had these approaches too and indeed was very keen on selling to them (or to Newland Homes) as they were promising far more money than the market value if a deal could be struck with all parties concerned.
Mccarthy and Stone, Christchurch - parking
From the front, the flats look modern but not out of place. The car parking is, I suppose, a necessity and perhaps only larger than our parking area at Well House Manor as it's more formal and the site itself is larger. It's when you get round the back and see the multistory flats towering about the fences of the neighboring gardens that you realise just WHY Linda's (now our) neighbors opposed the plans so strongly.
