| This is now an archive web site. Some is still relevant as at March 2026 but some is purely of historic interest. Lisa and I (Graham) are now fully retired from IT training.We have made many friends over 30 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Apache, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are out of date, but with upward compatability some examples remain operational and relevant. You are welcome to make use of them "as seen", at your own risk. We now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We remain active, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to do things! Using your own laptop
We provide at least one laptop per trainee throughout all the
courses we run at our Melksham training centre and on site as many
of you won't have spare machines lying around, and on admin courses you'll
prefer to experiment on our machines not yours. However, you're very
welcome to connect your own laptops to our network when you come on a
public course at Melksham. Data is available for practical sessions from our
server, and you'll get full access to our 50 Mbit link.
Our power outlets are 230v, standard UK plug. We have a limited number of
adaptors available for loan for standard European and USA power chords.
We can also provide an analog line with a UK or USA phone connector if you
need to dial in via a modem during breaks (getting very rare indeed
these days, but facility still available!)
