![]() If this is "The Horse's Mouth", then should my partner be writing a companion blog called "the hind legs of the donkey"? Lisa was not amused by the suggestion yesterday evening, and declined both on the basis that she doesn't feel that it's a commitment she should be taking on, and also that she doesn't fancy that end of the equine beast; it wasn't a term she had come across before and I was surprised to find how very British it was. A google search reveals "talking the hind legs off a donkey" in use by telephone companies selling their services to compulsive talkers, a number of blogs by predominantly female writers who are coming out and admitting verbosity, and the inevitable phrase sites.
