follow the links on the subject for details by language.

On public courses, delegates from a number of different companies / other organisations come to our training centre during the same week, and learn together. Not only does this make for a very cost effective course for you, but it also provides you with an opportunity to mix with other delegates, and learn from their use of your chosen language too. We won't exceed eight delegates on a public course - we have found that above that number, the learning experience on a programming course is diluted. We don't have a minimum number of delegates either - our "no cancellation" guarantee says that if you've booked a place on a course, it WILL run.
For each language, we offer two starter courses - one for delegates who have never programmed before (we call them "Learning to program in xxxxx"), and another for delegates with prior programming experience, but in a different programming language. The courses for complete novices are usually longer, and run at a more gentle pace at first before combining so that the subjects that will be new to everyone can be taught together, for the benefit of both groups.

The training centre where we run all of our public courses is situated at Melksham, in Wiltshire, England. We have hotel quality rooms available for delegates who don't live nearby to stay with us, and they can be included in the cost of your course or paid for separately if your company prefers that. Your room key also gives you access to the training room at any time you wish, and because we're in the software industry we have bean-to-cup coffee available for delegates to help themselves 24 hours a day. Our library includes over 700 Open Source books, and our internet connection runs - free for you to use when with us - has recently been doubled in speed an now runs up to 100 Mbits / second.

We welcome delegates from all over the UK ... and the rest of the world too. We're happy (by prior arrangement) to meet delegates arriving by train at Melksham station (90 minutes from London), or to arrange taxis to meet you at Bristol (30 miles) or Heathrow (85 miles) airports. An express coach to / from London via Heathrow stops at the end of the road, and we have plenty of parking on site if you prefer to drive. We do request that all delegates are fluent in English, and that delegates for the more advanced courses have appropriate prior experience for the course.

Delegates are welcome to use their own computers - or ours - for practical sessions during the courses. We offer machines with a choice of a Microsoft or Unix / Linux operating system. Each course is accompanied by notes, and all the examples used in the notes are available during and after the course on our web site.
It's important to have a professional and knowledgeable tutor teaching course, and to have a tutor who shows you how it's done rather than just reading the notes to you. I present almost all of the courses, and during the courses I'll be writing fresh programs for you, making sure that I take in all the important points in a logical manner; my intent is not only to show you WHAT a program does, but also HOW I arrived at that program. And that's going to be important for you in the future, when you're back home after the course and writing programs for yourself.

As well as courses on specific programming languages, we also offer:
•
Regular Expression Courses across multiple languages
•
MySQL courses suitable for programmers and designers using any of our languages
•
Linux, Apache httpd and Apache Tomcat courses for delegates deploying applications on those servers.
Course Prices are £350.00 for the first day, plus £250.00 for the second day. If you book multiple delegates on the same course at the same time, there's a discount of £100 for the second and subsequent delegates. Rooms are £60.00 per room per night, including breakfast. All prices are exclusive of VAT, currently 20%. Bookings and payment may be made through company purchase orders, or via credit / debit cards or bank transfer. We ask for a 25% deposit with booking if the booking is not backed up by a PO from an established organisation.

If you have four or more delegates who require the same training at the same time, you'll save yourself money by asking us to run a private course for you - we can run such courses at your offices, or at our training centre. Pricing depends on the number of delegates, the duration of the course, and the location at which it's to be delivered. See
[here] for further details and an on-site quotation form, and see
[here] for details of a private course at our centre.
