For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
December courses - PHP, Python, Perl - and a weekend Lua course

Lua is a powerful, fast, lightweight, embeddable scripting language. It's good and has a very open license so you can use it widely - even within your commercial products - at no cost. That's made it very popular across a wide range of applications.

We've offered public Lua courses for several years, and I have just scheduled two extra courses in the run up to Christmas ...

1. Learning to Program in Lua - for delegates who are newcomers to programming - from Thursday 15th December to Sunday 18th December inclusive. See [here]

2. Lua Programming - for delegates with prior programming experience - from Friday 16th December to Sunday 18th December inclusive. See [here]

Lua has quite a hobby / enthusiast following - this extra course is likely to be quite small in numbers, and is great for the enthusiastic / entrepreneur types who are happy to give up their weekend, and who want to learn something to play with and practice over Christmas. More conventional timings return for this course in the New Year.

Full upcoming pubic course list before Christmas:

PHP Programming and Learning to Program in PHP - from 27th November [link]
Perl Programming and Learning to Program in Perl - from 5th December [link]
Python Programming and Learning to Program in Python - from 11th December [link]
Lua Programming and Learning to Program in Lua [link]

The New Year starts with ...

Learning to Program in Tcl - from 3rd January [link]

All courses confirmed / running, but still some places available on all courses.

If you have missed one of these courses ... found this page on the archive ... please follow the links anyway. You'll find the next scheduled dates listed there, for at least 9 months ahead!

We also offer Ruby courses and C and C++ courses - next courses in those languages are not until mid January 2012.
