Nelly arrived from South Africa on 17th ... visiting her daughter - my daughter in law, and Aeryn, who's graddaugher of both of us, and she's staying with Chris and Delene. But it's a long way from Mossel Bay to the UK, and - lovely though Melksham is, there's much more to see in the country. So we took her out today.

We visited one of Lisa's old relatives - one of her 4096 great great great great great great great great great great great grandfathers, who was Bishop Theophilus Feild (a.k.a. Field) ... he's buried in the North Transcept of Hereford Cathedral. And he was also the great great great great grandfather of Thomas Jefferson, the later American president.
We laugh and joke about being related at some time in the past - but realistically, with so many great**11 grandparents each, we probably
are all related to each other at some point in the past. And because of those 'diamond' relationships, my statement that Lisa has 4096 great*11 grandparents is probably misleading, because some of them are likely to be one and the same person. As you've probably guessed, she's research our family trees at the moment and joining up with family trees already online - perhaps at some time the whole world's family trees will link, we'll all be 'family' and we may bitch at each other but we wouldn't come to blows.
