Pictures far apart
I'll tell you something about the following two pictures ... and that's that I'm the photographer in each case. The I'll ask you how far apart in distance and in time you think they are.   I have some pictures that look similar that are taken at similar times ... and then others where you say "they're almost the same" and they turn out to be far apart. I was looking at a picture of a crowded Pilning station the other day and thinking how similar it looked to a crowded Melksham taken last December. But the two above look worlds apart, don't they? They're not - they're about 100 yards apart, and the time interval between them is the time I took to walk that 100 yards. And if you wonder, it's not some European City that's been fought over and is now easily reached (daily, at an obscure hour, from Stansted) by Easyjet. It's Winchester!
