Programming in Python and Ruby - Programming in the Python and Ruby languages
A Rosette for Ruby (NN10)
Posted by admin (Graham Ellis), 28 September 2002I suspect you've noticed how quiet this board is compared to the other here?
Ruby is a very young language - perhaps it's ahead of the leading edge at the moment, so much more specialist interest, but I rather suspect it's time will come in some form or another.
I was talking with one of the Perl 6 folks on Thursday, and we were discussing some of the directions that Perl 6 is taking. It was very interesting to note that he mentioned Ruby as one of the languages which has been looked at very closely and from which ideas have been gleaned.
OK - so the future is Ruby, even if it's called "Perl 6"
