For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training. We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.
Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!
I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here)) |
What is on OUR pond?
Over the weekend, the first member of the Well House Team to arrive at Well House Manor was delighted to see a pair of mallards on our pond / fountain. Several of us did our best to take pictures, but some of us (i.e. myself) got shakey and blurred pictures. Rachel, who's picture I've posted here with here permission, did much MUCH better. There's a further picture [here]
I love the early mornings - there was a crisp frost this morning, cold but bright. One of our team - Rachel, Sarah or Poppy - or me if I'm standing in as holiday cover - arrive at Well House Manor at around a quarter past 6 (during the week) or at about a quarter past seven at the weekend. And for the first hour or two it's "All go". In fact during the week, everyone may have finished their breakfast and left for their meetings, or be working on yesterday's course examples, by 8 O'Clock.
It's usually much more leisurely at the weekend - yes, we can provide early breakfast for those people who have a day's work to do (for example, exhibitors at the TrainWest exhibition next month), but we're also happy for people to lie in, relax and eat a little later - formally breakfast is available until 10 a.m., but we don't mind if it overruns.
