Thamesdown was the name of the borough council that presided over Swindon and the surrounding area until a few years ago, and although unpopular as a name, you'll still find it in some use and on some signs. .... have a look at the Swindon page for some views of this town - the largest in Wiltshire (followed by Salisbury, Chippenham, Trowbridge and Melksham).
