Darlington and Teesdale
Industry came early to the North East of England - the Stockton and Darlington railway being the first in the world to use steam locomotive haulage on passenger trains. Durham, with its old university and cathedral is also in this area, and there's lots of lovely market towns and high rolling countryside too.
