The River Avon at Chippenham

Chippenham is an old market town about 10 miles up the river Avon from Melksham. Just off the Motorway and on the main London to Bath and Bristol railway line (see Chippenhamstation), Chippenham has excellent connections and a range of larger hotel such as the Angel (a Best Western) and the Premier Travel Inn.

If you're coming to visit us by train, you can change onto the Melkshamtrain at Chippenham, Trowbridge or Westbury. The branch train turns off the main line at Thingley junction onto the old "Wilts and Weymouth" line.
