Bath is a touring Mecca - you'll find museums, parks, shopping and history all set in great scenery - and good public transport too such as the bus from Melksham and the train from London to Bristol.

[imgl=bath3]In the Gardens[/imgl]The River Avon flows through Bath, and there are walks and gardens on both banks

[imgr=bath4]Pultney Bridge[/imgr]The river is crossed by the Pultney Bridge - an old crossing with shops on either side. Although it looks grand from the Esplanade, you probably wouldn't even realise you were on a bridge if you simply walked along the road that goes over it.
