If you come to your training course by public transport, we'll collect you from Melksham railway station prior to your course, and return you there afterwards.
We use our ex-London Taxi for errands around Melksham - picking up and dropping off supplies and people from shops, hotels, public transport and B & Bs; she's got plenty of space inside, will turn "on a sixpence", and is instantly recognisable. And we use her when we're delivering equipment for on site courses too. She's not the fastest vehicle in the world, but in traffic everyone's polite and lets the cab in ... travelling around has become an old-fashioned pleasure again.
Have we ever been hailed? Well, yes - once or twice - but we're not licensed to pick up fares. It's only when we're in the centre of a city that there's any problem. Mind you - there's the story of the time I was collecting someone off the evening train at Melksham, and a hen party of 10 "happy" young ladies made a beeline for me and asked if they could be taken to Bath. It's a good story too - do ask me to elaborate over lunch when you're next on one of our courses.
Addendum - August 2004. Sadly, we've retired our Taxi cab. Great fun, but we're experts at software not vehicle electrical systems and the reliability was dropping as the taxi got older; we need to be able to guarantee a station pickup, or our arrival at on onsite course, both of which we'll now do with more reliable modern vehicles
