York Minster can be seen for miles, and the river Ouse runs through the city centre. Lisa and I stayed in York one evening on our way back from a wedding in the Newcastle area, and swore we must stop there again.

Lisa and I were only briefly in York (and I didn't have a chance to get to the sights when I ran a Tcl course there more recently), but we're lucky to have these contributed pictures to show you a little more.

There's a great rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire. Lancaster, home town of the Lancastrians, is across the country from York.
