The Transwilts railway line runs from Swindon to Salisbury - linking the six largest urban areas in Wiltshire. But there's a problem - there are no trains from the 06:15 from Swindon until the 18:45 from Swindon - a wholly inappropriate service for one of the top 50 travel and commute corridors in the country.
Ask the authorities about it - and you'll get lots of words of sympathy, lots of agreement that the current service is not fit for any purpose except to meet the government specification that's laid down for the line ... and excuses and buck passing!
On this page, you'll find a series of picture that we have used on the top of the
First Great Western Coffee Shop Forum - a site which id provided by users (and wannabe users) of First Great Western services ... and I've labeled them up so that you know which was taken where.
You can support the call for an appropriate service - please visit
this page to do so. And you'll find links from there to other resources. There is also more background on
the Save The Train website
