For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))
Train the Trainer

So where do OUR staff learn about the subjects they teach? They learn by using them, by reading books, by researching on line, by writing our our course notes (a marvelous way to make sure you have it right), by listening to delegates - and of course by attending training sessions themselves.

I've been to Istanbul and Skagway, to London and to Vancouver, to Colorado and to Venice to learn ... our are niche subjects, and getting training sometimes involves traveling half a world away!

There are pictures on our website from Alaska, from Venice, from Turkey, from Denver ... and here are three from a London Perl session run by Dave Cross a couple of years back.

[imgl=coeve031]Learning Advanced Perl[/img] On the course in London, organized by BBC Backstage and London Perl Mongers and presented by David Cross

[imgr=coeve032]Perl and databases[/img]There are many Perl modules that provide database connectivity, and Dave brought us up to date on some of the more recent additions.

[imgl=coeve030]The teacher is taught[/img]Learning how to evaluate the quality of CPAN modules, time and date functions, database to object mapping, and much more.
