Oxford's just over the hour by road from Melksham if you're Touring and it can be reached by train if you don't have a car. It's an ancient city and (with Cambridge) was one of the two original University seats. To this day, it's dominated by students and colleges - young people walking and Cycling around amongst ancient buildings.
