Although the famous Cotswold towns and villages of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, etc, are quite a way north of Melksham, a finger of does extend down to Nearmelksham and villages such as Lacock, Biddestone, Box, Colerne and Castlecombe, and the ancient town of Corsham
