a) Enough glasses, cutlery, crockery

b) Juicer switched on

c) Trolley back in place

d) Kitchen light off

e) Final food check

f) Table - especially check for any debris or crumbs from previous evening's use (glass "rings" and spills too)

5. Away from breakfast


a) Check loo (usually needs a flush). Be discreet if customers have already presented for breakfast

b) Papers. Newspapers will be delivered to the cottage and should be placed in the rack in the Whitworth. As an experiment (and it seemed to work) I put them on the sofa ends - they were read more - seen better, I think.

c) Note shortages / issues; check email and let people know. Did you notice that in one of the sample pictures, there was an "issue"? What was it? You need to be observant as you set up breakfast!
