Corsham Church
Corsham is located on the main
London to
Bristol railway line between
Chippenham and
Bath, though the there's no longer a station there. The famous
Box tunnel takes the railway line through the high ground, and Corsham has a long history associated with building stone mined from these hills. It's still mined in a small way today - the
Wellhouse consultants training centre in
Melksham is said to be made of "Bath stone" ... but really, that's Corsham stone - at least for recent restoration work.
