For 2021 - online Python 3 training - see ((here)).

Our plans were to retire in summer 2020 and see the world, but Coronavirus has lead us into a lot of lockdown programming in Python 3 and PHP 7.
We can now offer tailored online training - small groups, real tutors - works really well for groups of 4 to 14 delegates. Anywhere in the world; course language English.

Please ask about private 'maintenance' training for Python 2, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, etc.

File Handling example from a Well House Consultants training course

This example is described in the following article(s):
   • Sending awkward characters by email in Perl - [link]

Source code: fprint Module: P207

@names = qw(Andrew Barbara Chloe Dan Elizabeth Flossie);

$gift = 100;
$kiddo = 15;

for ($k=1; $k<=$kiddo; $k++) {
        $gets = $gift / $k;
        $called = $names[$k % @names];
        printf "Add %7s. With %06b in favour, each gets %8.2f\n",$called,$k,$gets;
        }

__END__

%....[lower case letter]
b o d x - INTEGER - Binary, Octal, Decimal, Hexadecimal
f e g - FLOAT - float, exponentoial, 'general'
c s - Individual character, character string
(General format - whichever of e and f is most sensible!)
(This is perl - lots of other obscure ones too!)

%-8.3f
Floating point value
3 characters after the decimal place
A TOTAL of 8 characters minimum (NOT 8 before the decimal)
- sign means "left justified" (and a lead zero would zero fill)
