For 2023 (and 2024 ...) - we are now fully retired from IT training.
We have made many, many friends over 25 years of teaching about Python, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, Java, C and C++ - and MySQL, Linux and Solaris/SunOS too. Our training notes are now very much out of date, but due to upward compatability most of our examples remain operational and even relevant ad you are welcome to make us if them "as seen" and at your own risk.

Lisa and I (Graham) now live in what was our training centre in Melksham - happy to meet with former delegates here - but do check ahead before coming round. We are far from inactive - rather, enjoying the times that we are retired but still healthy enough in mind and body to be active!

I am also active in many other area and still look after a lot of web sites - you can find an index ((here))

Pictures of Melksham Carnival, taken from the corner of Spa Road / Coronation Road / Warwick Crescent. It's really good to have the American Circus visit Melksham. Dad and I went to see the show this afternoon.     The team running the show must have been 30 to 40 strong, the audience many hundreds. And it's really good to see atmosphere and pazazz, not danger and animals! Last day (this ...

3191Date of the Census (which month and day?)
I gave a flippant answer to a question Lisa asked me earlier - "when did the 1891 census take place" and I answered 1891. ;-). Of course, she was looking for the date within the year. That wasn't as easy to find as you might expect - so here's a full list: 1801 - 10th March 1811 - 27th May 1821 ...

3062Melksham Carnival - getting ready for 2011
"Carnival in November?" you ask. Yes - the Melksham Carnival Committee is looking forward to 16th July 2011, and early on Friday morning the lady who's going to be looking after their web site popped in for breakfast and to be shown the ropes. And I'm delighted to see that - by Saturday morning - there ...

2498Remembrance Sunday 2009, Melksham

17703 hours from Milton Keynes
I finished training at the end of Friday in Milton Keynes ... with a 2 to 3 hour drive home through the traffic travelling to start the Bank Holiday. Why rush it? 1631Looking back through some photos
A Sunday afternoon - and a Bank Holiday one at that. Where did the Bank Holiday go? 637Carnival
It's only Tuesday, and yet Saturday seems an age away. Both statues proudly celebrated 400 years of the gunpowder ...
