Java module J908
Java in the Linux Environment
Exercises, examples and other material relating to training module J908. This module is presented on Private Courses and Specially Run Courses only
Under the Linux operating system (and other closely related operating systems too), there's a second environment available under which Java can be compiled and run. The Gnu compiler collection (gcc) can compile Java source code, and the user has a choice of class file or object file outputs. This means that you can use Java source code to build native applications under linux. You'll reduce your code portability but improve run time efficiency if you do so.
Some modules are available for download as a sample of our material or under an Open Training Notes License for free download from [here].
Topics covered in this module
JDK - Use and operation under Linux.
GCJ - Use and operation under Linux.
The Compiler, compile options and compile level.
