For 2021 - online Python 3 training - see ((here)).

Our plans were to retire in summer 2020 and see the world, but Coronavirus has lead us into a lot of lockdown programming in Python 3 and PHP 7.
We can now offer tailored online training - small groups, real tutors - works really well for groups of 4 to 14 delegates. Anywhere in the world; course language English.

Please ask about private 'maintenance' training for Python 2, Tcl, Perl, PHP, Lua, etc.

4671Ruby training, half a world away
Picking up after tooooo long a break; the last month has been overfilled! I'm writing this on Monday - about Saturday, when I left home at 6 a.m. for a journey out to give a course in Saudi Arabia .... no direct flights London to Dammam, so travelled with Gulf Air and a stopover in Bahrain. A driver ...
3636Best tenner I ever spent?
I walked into the army surplus store that we had for a short time in Melksham, looking for a large pack in which I could take all my personal stuff, plus things I needed for a small onsite course. I was looking for robust rather than pretty, flexible rather than many-compartmented. "Sorry - don't have ...
4011From Salford
I've had a very busy week so far ... up in Manchester, where much (but not all) of the docks have has a fresh lease of life. It's a different world "up here" - riding the fast and frequent railed public transport (Trams), walking beside cared-for waterways with real leisure use, and getting bargain ...
395010 reasons why I travel the night before a course starts
I have a London meeting at 09:30, and traveling up by train it should be routine, straightforward, worry-free. I would love to have got a bus to the station at - say - 06:50, catch the 07:20 train, change at Swindon and be in London at 08:50 and then catch the tube - 09:15 arrival just a few minutes ...
3292Every tenth picture.
It's .... glorious to have a zoom back of the range I had on my last-but-one camera, and I'm thankful to have been able to spend yesterday evening in a lovely old town to try it out. Towards the end of a walk around, as the light got lower, there were some interesting picture ... here, towards dusk, ...
3131Lua, Tcl, Python; Worldwide training classes
The subjects we teach are used worldwide - there's just as much requirement to learn about Python in Salerno as there is in Swindon, about Tcl in Milwaukee as there is in Manchester, and about Lua in Buffalo as there is in Birmingham. But subjects like Lua are "niche", and the training volume simply ...
3130New Computers for delegates to use
Time flies! It doesn't feel like it - but it's been three years since we replaced our fleet of delegate computers (see [here]). The Compaq machines have really done very well, but they're beginning to look a little long in the tooth. Those that are still running Windows have been running Vista, and ...
2989Oddballs in Plymouth
I've been staying in Plymouth this week - and some evenings I've had a brief opportunity to walk around and see some of the sights of the city. Here are some of the more "oddball" pictures ... not quote the standard tourist views of the Hoe and the Barbican. This has been a tough week ...
2309Lua training class in Spanish
"Can't wait to hear how you're getting on". "Keeping an eye on your blog". A couple of messages from folks wondering how I'm getting on with my Lua course in Guadalajara, Mexico, this week. The answer will be brief. I'm enjoying the course, the delegates are getting a lot from it (THAT is the ...
2731Training Courses - time of change
The room is familiar - I've taught in it before - but other things are different. My first courses "here" (and here is on site, away from Melksham) was for a company who's offices host the room; there was a bustling office surrounding the room, a good (if slightly plastic) coffee machine in the canteen ...
741Last week - picture of the Perl course
Perhaps you've been reading my blog describing the two Perl courses that I ran in the Middle East over the past couple of weeks. A new part of the world for me - a whole new continent to add to those that I've already visited on business, so I prepared as best I could. I do wish to add a note of thanks ...
107Taking Equipment offshore to run a course
I learn something every day .... and one of the things I learnt yesterday was how I can take equipment to and from places that are within the United Kingdom, but are not part of the EU. Yes - you read that right; the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are not a part of the EU, but rather what I think ...
727A journey, an arrival, a people
It's a long, long time since I sat down and wrote a "travelogue"; although I enjoyed writing about places and people, there was getting to be much of a similarity in what I wrote - indeed, the world is a smaller place year by year. But yesterday, I flew into [place to be named later] and although the ...
