BackgroundThe C programming language is the bedrock on which most modern computing is built - it's used for much of the operating system and language programming, for example. C++ adds "Object Oreintation" onto C - if you don't know what "OO" is, that will be explained during your course. C++ is heavily used in large applications - for example, many large city institutions write their main systems in C++, and it's also the language in which many commercial applications are coded.
