There's more to writing a program that just coding. You need to plan what you're going to do so that you end up with an application that meets the specification, and is easy to use and maintain, and to adapt as further needs develop. On our courses, we teach not only the mechanisms of the language (Python was being taught in this picture), but also the best practise of its use - an important but oft neglected subject.
